Florida sailing
Many of you ask if I get to go out sailing well here’s the proof! I like to go out as much as time and weather permits which is never often enough, and also dream of that laid-back cruising pace. Here’s a recent photo of my 2 young boys and I sailing with grandpa in sheltered intra-coastal waters. Along with the basics of sailing I am instilling good safety habits so please don’t laugh at the hats and lifejackets; I’m sure they’ll get me back for it one day!

Presenting Kona Cat power catamarans
Looking for a power catamaran to operate a day charter, tour or fishing cat, ferry or a catamaran you can customize from the ground up?
Speed, stability, fuel efficiency are just some of the reasons that makepower Catamarans a logical choice. I have negotiated an exclusive agreement between the Catamaran Company and KonaCat to offer the largest variety in power cats.
KonaCats feature a wide variety of commercial or recreational power Catamarans from 34’-87', USCG certifications available. Some of their projects include workboats used in the BP oils spill clean up efforts. Projects in the works for three 85’ vessels to operate between Florida and Cuba moving quickly and efficiently across open water.
Top Quality - Fast Build Catamarans. Vacuum-infused foam core construction are extremely durable and stiff structures allowing for the speed of construction lighter boats and less maintenance issues.
All KonaCats are built using 100% composite materials. No wood, aluminum or steel is used in these catamarans.
Impervious to corrosion or rot (less maintenance = labor savings, durability)
20% lighter than aluminum (weight savings = fuel savings) save up to 40% operation costs
Construction cost 66% the cost of aluminum (lower initial investment)
Quick build, most KonaCats built within 6 months, over 60’ in 1 year. (quicker return on investment)
Jet drives offer maneuverability, ease of use and shoal draft although traditional shaft drives are also available.

Kona Catamaran has partnered with leading naval architects to offer modern designs and meet even the most unique and demanding requirements.
Whatever your application, you need a vessel that delivers the performance you desire, the reliability you need, at a cost you can afford.
Email me or give me a call so I can send you a copy of an article on KonaCat, just released in the March/April issue of MULTIHULLS Magazine.

Gemini 105MC A walk-thru and maneuverability display of this 34' Catamaran
It's here! Final cut of the video showing the VERY popular Gemini 105MC 2012 Edition. This cat is perfect in size for many, great at moving around in small spaces, yet ready to take on the ocean upon request. More affordable than you think. The video itself is very informative, keeps a brisk pace and is accompanied by pretty good music. Don't forget to check out the last 2 mins for the ride.

Boat show fever is on!
Boat show fever is just around the corner! Strictly Sail Miami runs February 16-20 at Bayside. Make your appointment now if you plan on being there or if you would like to see any other cats before or after the show. A large influx of boat shoppers come in from around the world to see the best in the industry. Come meet me aboard the Lagoon 421. As in past years, the Catamaran Company is hosting with Lagoon Catamarans near the Hard Rock Café at Miami Bayside marina/mall. Be sure to wear comfortable easy on/off shoes.
Here is the link to the official show site and ticketing info:
There should be about 2 dozen cats; unofficial Catamaran lineup includes the new Lagoon 400, 421, 450 and 560. We will also bring used Lagoon 420’s probably a 440 and Manta 42. Other Catamaran brands on display will be the US built 34’ Gemini, the French built Catana 47, Nautitech 42, Outremer 49. From South Africa, the Leopard 39, 44, 46, St. Francis 50, Royal Cape 53, Knysna 480, Gunboat 66 and Tag 60. From England the Discovery 50, Isara 50, SeaWind from Australia and from Argentina the Antares 44i. Definitely a good variety all in one spot.

Check out this video of an FP Cumberland 44 Powercat!
The official video has now been released! If you cannot yet getaway for a private showing, this is the next best thing. Check out this professional video/slideshow of a very nicely kept owner’s powercat. Notice the boat lift at the start of the video which just goes to show how this owner has taken care of his yacht. Jolie Blon recently got a fresh coat of bottom paint as well as new bright work. Not only is it worth the time to watch the video, it is worth considering making an offer!
